It's a...... {Gender Reveal}

Eliot and I decided the day before our appointment that we wanted to have a little gender reveal party for our immediate family the night after our ultrasound.

I have to say that we threw together quite a cute little party for only having 24 hours to put it together.

pink or blue??

candy is always essential at parties!

Although we found out the sex at the actual ultrasound it was so much fun and so special to see the reactions of our family members in real life!
our first pics of the babe!

We had a few snacks, some drinks, and of course the gender reveal cupcakes. I was able to order them from a local shop with only 7 hours notice, which was pretty awesome.

Everyone made a prediction of whether they thought we should start buying bows or bowties! I made a chalkboard sign with the results of all of the old wive's tale tests.... according to the tests it was leaning more towards boy.
We gave everyone a pink or blue plate based on their predictions.

For the predictions of the party guests it came out:
8 for Team Boy
3 for Team Girl

Typically, our dog got a cupcake off the table and almost ruined the reveal seconds before we were going to do it! I luckily snatched it out of her mouth just in time.

We counted to three and everyone bit into their cupcakes at the same time, AND...................

My mom and sister finding out!

My dad, brother, Lindsay, and Brady finding out!

 PINK WINS!!

We were nervous at the beginning of our ultrasound that we wouldn't be able to find out the gender because I was measuring about 4-5 days behind schedule. Despite that, the technician asked if we wanted to find out and we told her yes! Then she said, "Okay, are you ready? It's definitely a GIRL, 100 percent!"

For some reason I was totally thinking it was a boy, and most everyone I came across with a guess though that as well. I was shocked when the word girl came out of her mouth! With that being said, I am beyond thrilled to get to be the mama of a baby girl! Eliot is thrilled too and I know she is going to have him wrapped around her little finger!

Bring on the bows, bikinis, and baby dolls! We are so excited to meet you baby girl!
