Linking up with the lovely Carissa for Miscellany Monday!
Florida was so nice! And warm! 85 and sunny every day. We were definitely not there for long enough (3 days) but such is life! My bff Vicki has lived there for 5 years and this is the first time I have made it down to visit her! Terrible.
We started the trip off right with a little Waffle House. We don't have waffle house in Massachusetts and while possibly disgusting to some it is a necessity to have some of that cheap goodness whenever we travel South! Haha
Somehow... can't even explain this one, we ended up with this
sexy rental car. I felt like a cross between an 80 yr old man and a cop the entire time.
The first day we were there we checked out Siesta Key beach. It was GORGEOUS! Since I live by the beach and mine are pretty nice I rarely think other beaches that I travel to are quite as beautiful. This beach proved that wrong though because it was beautiful and had the softest whitest sand ever.
After strolling the beach for a while we went into town and found a little open air bar called the Daiquiri Deck. They had about 15 different frozen daiquiri drinks you could choose from and you could also do combinations. The one I got was red, white, and blue! We loved it!!
Since we had a packed little weekend, on Friday night my friend had both the rehearsal dinner AND a bachelorette party! For the bachelorette party we went to a Drag Show Bingo dinner show, It was SO funny! We of course brought some things to embarrass her, which because she is shy, was REALLY easy! Also, whenever they called the number "o-69" the waiters came around with free jello shots! We really liked that part!
Bridesmaid Jen on the left and bride Vicki on the right!
They picked this guy out of the audience and made him take off his shirt... and um, we liked it! ; )
After the show we went to a country bar with line dancing called Joyland. Who knew you could line dance to rap songs?? Only in Florida, I guess!!
The wedding was at a beach and the reception was pretty casual. It was also on St. Patrick's Day so here is E and I in our green attire. Please excuse the wrinkles on my dress... it was late into the day and it was a cotton dress. Blah : /
The ceremony at Lido Beach!
The cake was pretty cool and yummy!
This is E, with Vicki's new stepson Michael. He was mad at me because I had just accidentally stepped on his toes! :(
After the reception ended we headed back to Siesta Key and went to a fun bar called Gilligan's for a little after party fun and to find some green beer!
We found some!!! :)
On Sunday we met up with E's aunt who lives in the area for breakfast.
I someone was a little hungover so I didn't get any pictures! Later in the day we went to the beach again and the weather was fabulous. We went in the water and hung out! We made one more stop at Diaquiri Deck before we headed back to Orlando to catch our early morning flight the next morning!!
E and our friend Jen getting our last taste of Diaquiri Deck before heading out!
Congrats, Vicki and Gary, we had a blast!
