This weekend was fun, relaxing, and cheap... which is exactly what we needed!
Friday night two of our friends hosted a beer tasting at their house. We tried some good beer, I gave most of mine to E because dark/hoppy beer isn't really my fave. It was fun though, we had lots of good snacks and good conversations!
Saturday we hung out with E's parents. We went into Boston to go to the Isabella Stewart Gardner museum. I had never been and it was amazing. I seriously felt like I was in the middle of an Italian villa... despite being in downtown Boston! If you ever come to the city, I definitely recommend it! There was so many pieces of beautiful art, furniture, and artifacts. It was busy but did not feel overcrowded and we had a great time. Below is a pic of the inner courtyard, but it really is hard to do it much justice without seeing it in person!
After that we went out to lunch and headed home. We were expecting snow so we were going to hunker down at home for the night to eat chili and look at old slides. The snow didn't pan out, but we stayed in anyway. We looked at old slides of E and his fam.... he was such a cute little blond haired blue eyed little baby! Loved it!
Sunday we did some shopping at Trader Joe's, had dinner at my parent's house where my niece who is learning ball room dancing taught me to Tango and we danced to Whitney (RIP). We ate stuffed shells and drank some champagne and then headed home to watch the remainder of the Grammy's.
I hate when weekends end.
