Love Story!

E and I a couple of years ago

1. How long have you and your significant other been together? Just about 8 (woah!) years! That always seems to be such a long time when I think about it, but it has gone by so quickly! We made it "official" on March 24, 2004, but we had been "hanging out" since the beginning of February that year, so basically it has been just about 8 years already!

2. How did you meet? {What's your "love" story?)
E and I met during college. Going into my junior year, two of my best guy friends were going to be roommates. One of the guys decided not to come back to school that Fall. My friend Dan then had to be assigned a roommate, who happened to be a Freshman. Enter E... yes, I am a "cradle robber," although I prefer cougar ; ) Technically though although we were two grades apart, I am really only 16 months older. He was the roommate my friend was assigned to. Since E was a freshman he didn't hang out with us much that Fall and was spending a lot of time with friends he knew from high school who also went to our college.

After Christmas vacation, E for whatever reason started coming out with my group of friends a lot more. Embarrassingly enough, after one two or four too many drinks, E and I started to get closer at a party one night. I must admit that I was pretty against it and was trying to "shield" myself from E. Haha...I thought he was super cute, but I also thought he was just really drunk. After that night we would ALWAYS hang out with only eachother at parties... and often wanted to leave early so we could be alone. We once decided to trek through a huge field to try to walk home from a party because we could see our dorm in the distance. That turned out to be not such a great idea and we turned around. For about a month my friends would constantly ask "what is going on with you guys?" to which neither of us really had an answer to because we hadn't talked about it! We kept telling our friends to ask the other person.

On Spring Break, E went to France and I went to Key West. After we got back we hung out NON STOP, E made me scrambled eggs one morning and we finally held the "exclusive" chat...and that was that. Basically, he is by far the hottest, nicest, funniest guy I have ever met and  he has been my rock, best friend, and one of my biggest supporters ever since!

We have the same adventurous spirit, sense of humor, and outlook on life and the past eight years have been quite amazing. I can't imagine my life without him and can't wait to become his wife this summer!!...Moral of this story, if a drunk guy hits on you, you might want to give it a chance because not all of them are bad and eight years later you might be getting married! Haha

3. If married, how long have you been married? If not, is this the guy you hope to marry?  We are engaged and we will be getting married on August 11, 2012.... I can't wait to be a Mrs!!! :) We just ordered our Save the Dates, and I can't wait to show them to you, I just want to wait until all the people we send them to get a chance to get them!

4. If you are married, where did you get married at? Big or small wedding?  We are having a medium-ish wedding with about 150 guest. We are having the ceremony at an ocean side park location in our town and the reception in a hall right on the water nearby! I have lived by the ocean my entire life and can't imagine getting married elsewhere. I can't wait for the big day and also to get the chance to celebrate with so many of my family members and friends!!!

5. Do you have any nick-names that you call one another? Do share!
We definitely have the tendency to use weird voices with eachother and call eachother by nicknames a lot. However, they change often so it hard to say what we call eachother on a daily basis. I often write "Elbow" on E's cards, although I am not really sure why. We also often joke that if someone was secretly videotaping us they would think we were nuts! :)

6. Name 3 things you love most about your honey.
He has a lot of passion about the things he cares about. He makes me laugh. He is my best friend and I never get sick of him, so that's nice! :)

7. Tell us how he proposed? He proposed in October on Coast Guard Beach in Cape Cod. He asked me if I wanted to get up at sunset and take a walk... I said not really! *oops* He woke me up around 7 am and we decided to take a walk. Admittedly, I thought he was acting a little strange, but I didn't think too much about it, I thought maybe he was just tired! We got down to the beach and it was gorgeous. The sun was still not very high in the sky and despite that it was October, it was about 75 degrees. We started walking and all of sudden E was pulling something out of his pocket and kneeling. I was in shock! He asked and I kept saying, "Really? Seriously? Are you kidding? Really!!???" excitededly before I burst into tears. I think I said "yes" in there at some point. When we walked back, a few of our friends who were with us were in on it and had champagne for us to toast with! I was so surprised and excited!

8. Is he a flowers and teddy bear kind of guy for v-day, or strawberries, champagne, and rose petals?
Hmmmm... I am going to go with strawberries, champagne, and rose petals. He has never given me flowers, but that is because he definitely knows that chocolate and wine are the keys to my heart! I am not a flowers and teddy bears kinda girl! ;)

9. Are you a sunset dinner on the beach kind of girl, or pop a movie in and relax on the couch?
We live by the beach and in the summer have more sunset dinners on the beach than we have dinners in the house! Loooove that.... although first I have to get through the horrid New England winters!

10. Tell us one thing you'd like to do with your significant one day. If you could do anything? Go anywhere?
We have gone on lots of amazing trips together. We have been to Nova Scotia, Italy, Costa Rica, Tennesee, California, Wisconsin, Kentucky, Indiana, Michigan, Florida, and North Carolina! We both love to travel so I would love the chance to go to France and Spain, and Italy again!

11. Tell us what you plan on doing on this Valentine's Day.
Unfortunately, E's company decided to take his team to a Bruin's game on Valentine's Day! Boooo, who does that?? We are going to celebrate on Monday though, so we will still have some Valentine's fun... even if it is not on ACTUAL Valentine's day! :(

12. Are you asking for anything this Valentine's day?
I don't really ask for things for Valentine's day.... I like to be surprised!

13. Give us one piece of advice of keeping a relationship strong and full of love.
Be honest to yourself and one another. Don't be jealous. Don't sweat the petty things. Always remember to have fun with each other and don't be afraid to be silly. Often E and I break out into random songs while making dinner. He makes fun of my for falling off the couch, and his brother and I make fun of him for whatever we can think of! But our love is strong because we can laugh at ourselves, apologize when we need to, and appreciate that people are not going to be in good moods 24/7.

 14.  Show us a picture of what love means to you.
I just like this pic... wish I could get the editing a little better!
