2011: In review!

2011 was a pretty good year! Of course it will forever be "the year I got engaged" so that trumps a lot of the other things that happened over the course of these past 12 months but when I look back there was definitely a lot fun, friends, family, and adventure! :) Here is a quick recap, blog style! :)

JANUARY.

In January we moved into our new apartment. It snowed a lot. I was dealing with feeling anxious a lot of the time. Not fun at all.... We went on a ski trip to with some of our good friends. It was amazing and COLD. I think on our last day of skiing it was about 3 degrees, but it was one of the best trips of the year, even if we couldn't let any skin show for more than a few minutes. I had four snow days in three weeks and started to wonder if I would have a summer vacation at all. {luckily, I did!!}

FEBRUARY.

I started to work out a lot in February and fell in love with PiYo (Pilates/Yoga fusion, so fun) and spinning class. It made my anxiety levels go WAY down, good. :) I got my iphone, love. :) I participated in my first blog swap. My cousin announced she was PREGNANT and we would have the first new baby in our family in 10 years! We had secretly all suspected it since Thanksgiving. It is NOT easy to keep secrets in my family. ;)

MARCH.

I got excited that some of the snow was melting and Spring was on its way. We celebrated St. Patrick's Day with green beer. Getting to spend more time outdoors made me super happy.

APRIL.

I marveled at the Royal Wedding. I had a week of staycation. E got offered a new job! It was very exciting and we were really happy to know that we would soon be making more money! I survived an hour long presentation that I had to give to my coworkers. I had spring time fun

MAY.

In May we got to go on a mini getaway to Florida to go to Disney World and watch my nephew compete in a baseball tournament. I cherish the time I get to spend with my fam and my niece and nephew. I got to watch E walk in his college graduation ceremony and he started his new job. I was SOOO proud of him and felt so relieved that he was able to find a job! I celebrated my 28th birthday... I still felt like I was 18 :) I had to get an MRI.

JUNE.

SUMMER arrived at last. It is defintely the best season there is. I feel happiest in the summer. We hosted a graduation party and it rained for the only day in weeks. The party had to be inside, but being with friends and fam was the best part of the party anyway. E began his new job. We enjoyed the sunny days and went to the beach a lot. School ended for the year (finally). We spent A LOT of time on our new deck grillin' and chillin' haha

JULY.

I hosted a baby shower for my cousin. We went to the beach. I blogged very little... probably because I was at the beach.

AUGUST.

My new cousin baby Paige was born.  We went camping and once again went to the beach quite a bit!

SEPTEMBER.

In September, I went back to work. My brother and his fam visited from Michigan and he turned 40. E celebrated his 27th birthday. My niece turned 16 and got her license!

OCTOBER.

October was probably my favorite month of this past year. You probably remember the big news from October. E and I got ENGAGED! I was so surprised and still feel a little bit like I am on cloud nine thinking of the fact that I get to marry my best friend and the love of my life. I can't wait till August!

NOVEMBER.

We had a mini engagement party. We celebrated Thanksgiving in California visiting E's brother. I started wedding planning!!

DECEMBER.

My Dad had his retirement party. I went to see the Rockette's. I rushed around getting ready for Christmas, wedding planning temporarily went on the back burner until Christmas ended. We had a very successful ugly sweater party. I thoroughly enjoyed my week long vacation! I tried on wedding gowns and picked a few favorites, although I still can't decide which I liked best.

And that's that!
